My starting point will be a Carson 1/5 CY-Eline 4WD BMW 320si Electric Chassis that will be modified for Drift.
With BMW 320i Body in black. It won't be a widebody M3, or will it?

Carson 1/5 CY-Eline 4WD is basically a Yokomo DPM that will become RWD and the front geometry modded for lock with some custom components.
While most 1/5 scale chassis like Mecatech, Genius, Concept or RS5 retail for about $4000AUD my target for RTR is around $1000AUD so this base should be ok,
